You have misunderstood this if you think it will mean the highest electricity prices in the world. Most electricity will come from renewables, which are the cheapest electricity available. Only for intermediate periods will the stoed power (hydrogen) be used. All in all, it should still play out as a cheap and reliable green power - and even if unforeseen issues appear, they won't be insurmountable, and the prices will always be cheaper than with nuclear, which today, for new power plants IS the most expensive form of electricity production.

Hydrogen as a German political agenda is a trojan horse for building more gas pipe lines. Until 2022 the plan was to produce "blue" hydrogen out of Russian natural gas and frame those as green energy. Every recent development is a result of international corruption without any proper goal. Hydrogen could only be feasible if Germany produces way more green energy it can possible export by cable...

I just want to commend you on your or your editor's (editors'?) selection of pictures. Every source of any news has some bias, but it seems to me like you do not pick pictures of individuals to fit a narrative, even if it's clear you have a position on a topic (i.e., bad person looks bad or angry, good person looks friendly and lively).

Nuclear was never the cheapest energy... it was on paper cheap by removing the waste costs of the equation.

You have to differentiate between electrical energy and hydrogen. Most processes that need energy now can use electrical energy with more efficiency (think heat pumps and electric cars) then with the fosil counterparts. Replacing those with hydrogen would be really dump. But there are processes that need very dense energy (planes) or the act of redoxing something (steel). those processes need hydrogen. You also have to consider that we already have a surplus of green energy when the sun is shining and the wind is blowing. This will become even more. Using this energy to produce hydrogen is practically free, you can even earn money when you take that energy of the grid. So it's actually a pretty good plan, imho.

1) Europe needs immigrants to sustain herself. Europe has an ageing population that will need caring for and not enough taxpayers. 2)Immigration isn't what sent your jobs overseas. That was the neo-liberal free marketers. The same cu*nts who made it unaffordable to buy a house. 3)Immigrants have more money due to manufacturing moving into their country from the west, leading to higher education, leading to knowledgeable individuals that can be used in more developed economies. Hence the demographic changes in Europe. 4) Another reason is the US and Europes constant involvement in war in the Middle East. 5) Europe created this crisis when they carved up the Middle East after the Second World War. 6) There are lots of complexities. I'm sure half the world didn't want European colonist moving into their backyard.

EU is turning hard right because the center left and right don't care about what the people want, and the populists promise it. Unfortunately, this German gamble is lost right at the beginning. It is impossible for hydrogen to compete with electricity for usual, large scale applications, because of production and infrastructure costs.

Again the hydrogen fairytale is mentioned. Hydrogen requires complicated and very expensive infrastructure, it is inefficient and dangerous and does not have any advantage as an energy carrier for household and industrial applications. As a transportation fuel it is ridiculous. It is hard enough to improve the current electricity infrastructure and it is not easy to find enough professionals for maintenance, in many countries. With hydrogen, we just increase the costs, dangers, difficulties and lack of competent workforce to deal with the issues. And there will be more victims.

I think your statistics about cheapest energy sources is misleading. It's the consumer price you are showing. Nuclear power wad heavy subsidised in Germany. Meaning the actual price was was higher. Storing of waste products still costs money to this day, and will continue costing possibly thousands of years from today. Even maintanace of powerplants although managed by companies was done with tax payer money. It is estimated that 1kwh of nuclear energy over the last 50 years averages at 42.2 cents. Which puts this at 3x more expensive than coal and 6x more expensive that wind energy...
